Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in Shirley last night.
A man was crossing Montauk Highway southbound towards 990 Montauk Highway on August 28, when he was struck by a westbound 2015 Ford Escape at 9:53 p.m.
The victim, Thomas Shane, 33, of Shirley, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Ford, Marvin Gonzalez-Martinez, 27, of Mastic, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
