A person has been hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Bay Shore.
A man was running across 5th Avenue from east to west, just north of Brewster Street, on August 1 when he was struck by a southbound 2019 BMW 430 at 6:15 p.m.
The victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the BMW, Jabril Garner, 18, of Selden, was not injured.
The BMW was impounded for a safety check.
