Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist.
On April 11, James Stucchio was operating a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Smithtown Avenue when he lost control of the motorcycle and crossed over the double yellow line, striking a 2013 Honda Civic traveling northbound near Marconi Drive at 4:14 p.m.
Stucchio, 57, of Lake Grove, was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries. The driver of the Honda, Bilkes Sikder, 45, of Centereach, was also transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact Fifth Squad detectives at 631-854-8552.
