Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist this morning in East Patchogue.
Marcelo Alvarado, operating a 2025 Jiajue 150cc motorcycle, was traveling northbound out of his driveway, located at 292 Oak St., on July 18 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Oak Street, and the motorcycle collided with an eastbound 2012 Nissan Maxima, driven by Corinne Figueroa, at 10:13 a.m.
Alvarado, 24, of Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Figueroa, 44, of Bellport, was not injured.
The Nissan and the motorcycle were impounded for safety checks.
