Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Bay Shore last night.
On August 19, Vincent McKie was operating a Suzuki DRZ dirt bike southbound in front of 1383 Brentwood Road when he crashed into the right rear of a 2025 Acura RDX that was stopped in traffic at approximately 9:15 p.m.
McKie, 45, of Bay Shore, was ejected from the dirt bike and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment. The driver of the Acura, Gerson Rivas Varela, 26, of Bay Shore, was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
