Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Patchogue Crash

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Patchogue this morning. 

On May 23, Justin Horning was operating a 2005 Suzuki sport bike on East Main Street between Rider Avenue and  North Ocean Avenue, traveling westbound behind his friend, who was operating a 2012 Honda sport bike, when the front of his motorcycle made contact with the rear of the other, causing him to be thrown to the ground at 12:06 a.m. 

Horning, 26, of Bay Shore, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries. The operator of the other motorcycle, Justina Ruland, 25, of Bay Shore,  was not thrown from the Honda and not injured.  

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
