Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in East Islip.
On August 9, a 31-year-old man was operating a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Main Street, near Harrison Avenue, when it left the roadway, striking a tree and then a utility pole at approximately 1:20 a.m.
The man, whose name is not being released pending notification of next of kin, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead.
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad 631-854-8352.
