A motorcyclist from Queens has died, and his passenger was injured after a crash on the Wantagh State Parkway.
On August 23 at approximately 5:05 p.m., New York State Police Troopers and members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) responded to the Wantagh State Parkway northbound, just South of Goose Neck Bridge, for a reported motorcycle crash.
The preliminary investigation determined that a 2014 Black Suzuki Motorcycle, operated by Dario Marsalek, 19, of Astoria, was traveling northbound when it struck the guardrail. Marsalek and his passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.
Marsalek was found on the roadway while the passenger was found on the grassy area along the right shoulder.
Marsalek and the passenger were transported to a local hospital, where Marsalek was pronounced dead. The passenger remains in critical condition at this time.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
