Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in East Patchogue this morning.
Tyrell Lansworth was driving a 2020 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Sunrise Highway on August 7, when the vehicle struck a man who was changing a tire on the shoulder of the road at 7:14 a.m.
The pedestrian, Jesse Mangan, 18, of Mastic, was transported to NYU Langone – Suffolk in Patchogue with serious injuries. Lansworth, 35, of Shirley, was not injured.
The Hyundai and Mangan’s vehicle were both impounded for a safety check.
