A person is in the hospital after being hit by a car while trying to cross the street in Freeport.
On August 2 at 10:05 p.m., a 44-year-old male was crossing N. Main Street in the vicinity of Prince Avenue when he was struck by a 2018 Buick Encore being driven by a 30-year-old male traveling northbound. The pedestrian sustained serious physical injuries and was transported to a local area hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition. The driver of the Encore remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
