A roadway in Carle Place was shut down when a fuel truck overturned.
On August 10 at 7:59 p.m., a 31-year-old man was operating a 2025 Kenworth Gasoline Tanker traveling southbound on Glen Cove Road when he attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Old Country Road. During the turn, the truck overturned, causing a fuel spill.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal, Nassau County OEM, The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU), Motor Carrier, Westbury Fire Department and neighboring fire department all responded to the scene. The operator sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
