Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured an e-bike rider last night in North Lindenhurst.
On July 10, Jose Hernandez was driving a 2012 Toyota Prius southbound in the right lane on Straight Path, passing through a green light at the intersection of Route 109, when the vehicle struck a Hunter Pro e-bike rider traveling westbound on Route 109 in the southwest crosswalk of the intersection at 8:06 p.m.
The e-bike rider, Gregory Dotson, 49, of Wyandanch, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries. Hernandez, 55, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.
The Toyota and the e-bike were impounded for safety checks.
