A Port Washington man was arrested for DWI after allegedly crashing his car into a building in Manorhaven.
On August 6 at 12:18 a.m., Nassau County Sixth Precinct Officers responded to 112 Shore Road for a report of an auto accident. Upon arrival, they observed that a grey 2019 Mercedes-Benz SUV had allegedly left the roadway and crashed into a building, causing extensive damage. The building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
After a thorough investigation, the driver of the SUV, Matthew P. Meyran, 66, was placed under arrest without incident for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). There were no injuries reported on the scene. The Manorhaven Building Inspector responded to the scene to evaluate the structural integrity of the building.
Police charged Meyran with Driving While Intoxicated and Operating a Motor Vehicle with BAC of more than 1%. He was arraigned on August 6 at First District Court in Hempstead.
