Crash on Southern State Leaves 4-Year-Old Injured

A child is hospitalized after a single-car crash on the Southern State Parkway.

On June 17 at approximately 2:00 p.m., state troopers responded to the Southern State Parkway westbound near Exit 20 (Grand Avenue). When they arrived, they observed a 2006 Nissan Sentra that had struck the trees with the operator and a four-year-old child entrapped. Both the driver and child were removed from the vehicle. Once removed, the child was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Lanes on the Southern State Parkway westbound were closed from approximately 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
