A driver has been hospitalized after suffering a medical episode and crashing into a school in East Williston.
According to Nassau County police, a grey 2019 Jeep was traveling westbound on East Williston Avenue on July 26. At 6:16 p.m., the driver, a 77-year-old man, suffered a medical episode, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. The Jeep struck North Side Elementary School, located at 110 East Williston Avenue, on the north side.
The driver was removed to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Nassau County Emergency Services Unit responded to remove the vehicle from the building.
The East Williston Fire Department was on the scene and deemed the building to be safe.
