James Is Wrong about Court’s Transgender Athlete Ruling

To the Editor:

Ms. James, as a woman (I believe), makes a ridiculous point that the SCOTUS ruling forgets that there are people involved and that this is discriminatory toward trans people (“Local Officials React to Transgender Sports Ruling,” July 1, 2026).

What about the 99% of female sports participants who are biological females? Aren’t they in the significant majority? Allowing biological males to compete against biological females is discriminatory in itself based on the differences from Mother Nature (or should I be saying Gestating Parent Nature?). Discrimination or racism are only real when they are applied one way. They are never considered equally applicable for all. Equality requires tipped scales or no balance at all.
